Simply Betty Challenges: Liliana

Here is my card for the latest Simply B Facebook fan challenge using Liliana.  The challenge was to use this cute digi image and incorporate the following colors:  black, white, and orange.

I colored Liliana with Copic markers and then used orange and yellow Stickles on her wings.  I fussycut her and placed her on the daisies that had been fussycut also.

I used lots of Glossy Accents on this butterfly.  I also added Glossy Accents to the centers of the daisies.

I fussy cut this butterfly and added Stickles to it.

Digi Galore Challenges: Anything But A Square

Hey, all !  Our new challenge over at Digi Galore Challenges is:  Anything But A Square.  Our sponsor is Simply B Stamps.  I chose to work with this Breast Cancer Awareness digi. I colored her with Copic markers and used a digital cut file from svgcuttingfiles.com for the shaped card.

I made sure to incorporate pink and also went for a girly, glam bra!  I used a rhinestone ribbon slide for the center and also added rhinestone stickers on the top edge of the bra.  I had a Breast Cancer awareness charm that someone had sent me in the past.  It was perfect for this project!  I finished the card off with a pink flower that I Stickled in glam pink.

Digi Galore Challenges: Sketch

It's time for a new challenge over at Digi Galore Challenges.  I'm on Team A, so I normally contribute a project for the challenge posted on the first of the month only.  I saw this adorable digi from our sponsor for the mid-month challenge and decided I just had to play along!

Our current challenge is a sketch challenge, and our sponsor is The Paper Shelter.  Here is the sketch:

Recently, some friends of mine went to Japan and brought back an assortment of beautiful washi paper for me.  I was so excited to see all the pretty paper.  The pink floral paper on my card came from that set.

I colored the digi image with Copic markers and embellished the card with dimensional stickers by Jolee's.  It's hard to tell in the picture, but I added some Stickles to parts of the girl's kimono and to her hair accessories.  I also added Stickles to the cherry blossom stickers (see below).

The sentiment was computer generated and means "thank you" in Japanese.  I am actually giving this card to my friends who brought back this beautiful paper for me from Japan.

Thanks for looking, and be sure to check out the latest challenge at Digi Galore Challenges!

Hello Pretty

I created this card for a card swap group I am in.  We were to use a flower theme for our cards, so I used a stamp set by Unity that I got recently.  The set is called Hello Pretty.  I colored the image with Copic markers and then matted the image with light blue cardstock.  I added some pretty red washi tape and some crystal rhinestones.  The sentiment "hello pretty" is from the stamp set as well.

I recently got my YouTube channel set up, so you can check out a video featuring this project as well as some other videos I've posted!

Digi Galore Challenges: Spring

Hey, everyone!  Sorry I am a little late posting this!  Things have been so hectic around here with taking care of two kids and everything else a mother/wife needs to do!

Our latest challenge at Digi Galore Challenges is SPRING.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Beccy's Place.  I have to admit that I wasn't familiar with Beccy's digi's before, but I am glad I am now!  She has some really  pretty digi's!

I chose to work with this beautiful flower for my spring card.  I colored the flower in with watercolor pencils.  The sentiment is from the Stampin' Up Fabulous Florets set.  I inked the edges of the patterned paper with distress ink.  Some flatback pearls were the finishing touch.

Be sure to check out the challenge over at Digi Galore for a chance to win some of Beccy's images!

New Challenge at Digi Galore Challenges: Easter

Hi, Bloggers!  First of all, I know I STILL have a Halloween template up on my blog, and I apologize.  I have been running into problems trying to update it.  It's been a bit frustrating to say the least.  I promise to have a more up-to-date design up soon!

Well, hope you all had a nice Easter weekend.  My toddler dyed Easter eggs for the first time and had a blast!  What fun!

Speaking of Easter, that is the theme of our most recent challenge over at Digi Galore Challenges.  Our sponsor for this challenge is Whoopsi Daisy.   Please be sure to check out the main post over at Digi Galore Challenges for the challenge rules and to post your entry.

I chose to work with this adorable image of two birds.   I tried to stick with a clean, bright design.   I colored the image with Copic pens and then added pink Stickles to the flowers.  I used one of my Spellbinders dies to cut out the image and then inked the edges with TH Distress Ink in Pickled Raspberry.  Love the bright pink!

The leaves are a flourish die from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The flowers were made with two different La-La Land dies.  I added flat back pearls to the centers.   The white background cardstock was embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder by Cuttlebug.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you come back and check out my posts later this week.  I finally got a YouTube channel going, and I think it will be much easier to share projects there.  I'll still post to my blog, but I will also be posting more detailed info on my YT channel as well.  Have a great week! :)

Simply B Burlesque 2 Release Blog Hop!

It's a blog hop! You should have arrived here from Sharon's blog. If you are just joining us and wish to start at the beginning, please start at the Simply B blog. I love burlesque images! They remind me of Miss Betty Boop from back in the day. Today, a bunch of us Simply B fans are sharing our creations using images from this totally fab line that was just released on Valentine's Day!

My card features Betty Sexy Legs. Oh, my! Her sexy dress shows off just a bit of "cheek"! Yowza! I inked her up with Copics. The papers and embellies are from Pink Paislee's Secret Crush line. Love the pink and gray combo! I added some pink, lacy, ruffled trim to the card. Reminds me of a garter belt -- perfect for a card like this, right?

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out all of the images from this super cute line. Please hop on over to Tress' blog next! Below is the complete blog hop lineup.

Happy Birthday, Rio!

A bunch of us Simply Betty fans are celebrating her daughter's birthday today.  Happy Birthday, Rio!

You should have arrived here from Trish' blog.  If you just joined us and want to start from the beginning, visit the Simply Betty blog and start there.

We're all using this cute Rio Zombie digi for our projects.  I inked her up with Copics.  The paper is by Authentique.  Since Rio is a bookworm, I chose some paper with text as well as paper with a notebook paper pattern.  I inked the edges with TH Black Soot distress ink.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts.  I finished off the card with a touch of bling.  Hope you like it, Rio!  Have a great day!

Please hop on over to Sharette's blog next.

Simply Challenged Challenges: Jan. 1st Sketch

The first challenge of 2013 over at Simply Challenged Challenges is a sketch challenge.  Here is the sketch:

And, here is my take on it:

I used Cherub Christian by Simply B Stamps.  I love the whimsical nature of this digi.  I colored him with Copics and gave his halo and wings some sparkle with Stickles.  I first colored his eyes blue.  But, then I decided to go with googly eyes for a fun touch.  All of the paper and embellishments, with the exception of the twine, are from Pink Paislee's Secret Crush line.

My Personal Use My Stuff Challenge for 2013 and a Washi Tape Card

This year, I am vowing to use every tool, every stamp, and as many supplies from my stash as I possibly can.  Now, the digital stamps might be a little difficult in that I have so many, and it does take longer to hand color digi's, but I am going to try my best.  I am just tired of seeing things in my craft room that haven't been loved at least once!  I'm sure all of you crafters know exactly what I mean.  I will be tagging these projects as a way for me to track how many items I am finally making use of this year.

Earlier this week, I bought a cute set of mini clothespins by American Crafts from Target, and on the package was a picture of a card.  I thought it was the cutest thing and I just had to try my hand at it.  I used Kraft cardstock, natural twine, and washi tape.

I have to say that it was a little bit of a hassle working with the washi tape and the twine together because this twine had a lot of loose fibers that kept getting stuck onto the washi tape.  The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set which I stamped in Pure Snow by PTI.  As you can see, the impression wasn't very even, but art isn't always perfect, right?  LOL  I do have to comment that the ink pad seemed especially juicy.  I am not sure if it's supposed to be like that or not.

That's it for today.  I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing Sunday cleaning, organizing, and maybe squeezing in some crafting.  I am sure there will be some football watching as well.  Happy Sunday!

My Personal Use My Stuff Challenge:
washi tape :  used some of the rolls here for first time
PTI ink in Fresh Snow
natural twine
(not counting the mini clothespins since they are a recent purchase)

Elf Fry Box (late Christmas post!)

It's way past Christmas, but I'm just now getting around to posting this Christmas project.  It's quite adorable if I do say so myself!  I discovered a new-ish SVG file company simply called SVG Cutting Files.  Oh, my!  They have the most adorable cutting files and great prices!

I saw this super cute elf fry box and just had to make it for a friend of mine who was my partner in a Christmas swap.  I had some other things for her package already, but I figured chocolate is always a nice surprise!  I filled the box with Hershey Kisses, wrapped it in cellophane, and then topped with my favorite quote from the movie "Elf".  Super cute and fun!

Thanks for stopping by!  I promise to finally get rid of this Halloween blog design soon!  Have a great Saturday!

Simply B Facebook Fan Group Challenge

Here is the card I made for last month's challenge over at the Simply B Facebook Fan Group.  We were given this festive image of London to use on our project.  The challenge was to use Christmas colors.  I inked her up with Copics and stuck with the traditional red and green Christmas combo for her outfit.  Right now, I still struggle with coloring curly hair, but I plan on changing that this year with lots of practice!  You can't tell in the picture, but I added some sparkle to the sentiment with some Stickles.

Well, that's it for my second share of the year.  One of my big goals for this year is to get a lot more cards done, and I already have four more done and ready to share with you all.  See you soon!
